I fancy trying bit spinning first light tomorow as sea supposed to b flattening off and quite big tide, anyone any suggestions as to wherebouts in south shields area, mainly for coalies using sidewinders and spinners, just dying to get out the weathers not being very fair to us :(

Wheres middens like scotty mate? Is that north side? Nay good at swimming distances wiv gear like lol
yes scotty means black middens north side
funny you say that I was having the same thought
I would say sheilds pier might be best might pick a pollock up over the blocks /down the inside (river side) for coalies
big beach for bass you just never know

The pier is a safe bet as long as the sea isn't too big. Top tip, if you can make out the point where the water out the river (normally brownish) mixes with the sea (normally a bit less brownish) cast at it.

Cheers for thoughts lads, used to catch plenty coalies last year at first gate but with high tide being just before 4 I think that might b too murky time gets light, always tried for pollock on pier near blocks but never any success so think might give that a go, beats staying in when theres a slight break in weather, let u lads know how get on tomorow, jus filled up with braid on reel so fingers crossed

As phil says just make sure that swell not to big
may have a look my self just got a dog today for security reasons
