hello all
dont want to sound abit dopey i know the mackie are due soon but what other fish is it possible to catch spinning in the north east area ie rock marks not piers cheers for your time and info

Coalfish hide under the rock ends where mackerel are caught and will readily take a spinner. Further north where you can find deep water there is every chance of pollock and very occasionally, a codling will take a lure from the shore. If you’re lucky you’ll discover areas that hold bass; you’ll need to find them as it’s unlikely you’ll be shown where. Sandeels appear at the same time as the mackerel and launce get caught too which can be OK for bait.
If you want to catch more than just mackerel, try using some of the soft plastic lures fished deep.

i've had good pollack up at eyemouth from April onwards but you'll need a flattish sea and try to find deep water if you can.

hi mate get yourself on e bay buy some of the black firetail worms with the pink tails,you can get 10 for 99p get some 1 to 1/12oz jig heads and your
sorted,sidewinders and shads also work,either that or get the above from tackle shop.ive fished with a 10 foot carp rod and fixed spool reel for twenty years and had pollack to 8lb on this set up,next find yourself a rock to sit on at eyemouth behind the golf course and cast,but dont make the mistake i made as a kid of just casting straight out,most of my fish have come within five yards of the shore casting parrallel to the rocks,and sometimes there are fish actually behind youif you are a bit uncertain about the serious rock hopping pm me and i will give you a decent mark thats a bit easier to get to cheers chris

As Lingking said, Eyemouth, StAbbs and Dunstanburgh are worth a look. Anywhere that has deep water should have pollock there, the deeper the water, the bigger the pollock is a rule I've found works.
