well after a few mishaps on sat i was not able to get down to pier, so i decided to get to the pier early as pos on sun, as i arrived i saw 3 lad s out of club and was told they had a match on starting at 9 so i decide to fish it . I got to end bout 8.50and promptly set up and manage to cast out a minute or so after 9 . and that was it for me not a sniff of a bite for 4 and half hours whilst most on pier were pulling in fish fairly frequent with mainley borderline and undersize fish and a fair few sizable cod,coli and dabs also getting caught i had to wait till 1.30 for a fish , a decent coli and shortly after a size whiting ,with the comp ending and knew i had no chance of coming any where in match decided to stay on fishing , as the tide on small wall was pulling so strong i went on S E corner where ai managed 2 cod just over the 1lb mark a nd a nice 4.5lber which young grant handballed up for me ( cheers again grant ) so after a dismal startwas happy with my 1st decent cod of the season

no jim ,i automatically always keep to wheel side when sea coming over, and it only just came over bout 25 yards before i got there
