We will be going up next weekend and was wondering what marks we can fish and where is good around st abbs and the Eyemouth area. Also would like to know what to use I.e spinner bait? Also what has been catching lately

Cheers

if you drive right upto st abbs head lighthouse mate there are 2 good marks to the left and right of the lighthouse you cant really miss them take care when venturing down 2 them tho mate coz they can be quite dangerous, your best going very light with the gear aswell i usually just take a spinning rod, reel and a little rucksack with a few different lures, jellies etc and sometimes a few floats and a few crab if the lures dont do the job. Plenty of makarel, coalies, pollock and sometimes the odd cod if your lucky from these marks, i would'nt bother fishing these marks if its raining tho mate as the rocks become very slippy and are trecherous best fished when the sea is flat on a nice sunny day mate.

the mark just to the left of the lighthouse known as the crocodiles back is the safer of the 2 marks and its not 2 bad if its dry just take your time down the steep bank onto the rock edges and be carefull and you should be ok i would'nt fish these marks by yourself tho, there are other marks just before you drive up the bank upto the lighthouse fishing from a concrete ramp into the bay but for me the better fishing is the marks infront of the lighthouse where you can have really good sessions so long as the conditions are right.

Where can I check the seas

if its gonna rain or even drizzle it will be slippy ...try not to have much gear to lug about . wear good shoes that have good thread too . and dont forget ur reel like i did lol

The lighthouse is at st abbs head mate u follow signs for it and come to a dead end up a big hill at the lighthouse, most the marks are infront of lighthouse so need to walk from that point, b careful Steve there some quite steep slopes, alternatively theres pettico wick which ul see jus before u get to lighthouse on left hand side down bottom off hill theres a bay with concrete jetty, can fish the front of that at lowtide into see but watch for tides coming in as may block u off, hope this helps mate

Any more marks plz btw the lighthouse is at coldingham st abbs?
if you go into st abbs harbour and turn right up a little hill follow the path a short way and you come onto the coldingham skeers any where along here cod ,coaly, wrasse, pollock, macky, much safer if the weather is not to good, you can also fish at the end of harbour pier for cod ,pollock only draw back on the pier is the number of divers.hope this helps davy.
