nice one mate good to see the wrasse comming in:D
mabey pop along av got a nice gully on st marys a fish at h/w always float fish it on light gear and has always produced wrasse and pollock;)

Gulley.

Gulley.

That's the second wrasse I have had from the Island, although the other one was on the Southern side casting out near the concrete cairn.
I think the gulley you are on about was just to the right of where we were fishing. There is another gulley on the Southern side too.
I managed to have a good look at the bottom of the gulley, to the right of where we were fishing at low water and definitely think that would produce on a float. There is a good bottom with crevices giving overhead cover (where food will collect) in the rock edges forming the gulley. On any HW there is a real good depth to the water there.
To be honest I have previously turned my nose up to the float but have decided to use this Summer, a lighter set up alongside the big rod for spinning and float fishing!

the wrasse shud show up soon in better numbers the weathers getting nice and seas are calming looking forward to some good sport :)
