Anyone know if it is possible to stay on St. Marys during the flood? Always wondered if it was - but wasnt sure how high up the water came,ie how much of the island gets covered.

you can fish crisps gully right through on the biggist tides the small tides you can wade across at high water as long as it is calm. davy.

Aye, it was crispen gulley I was wondering about. So are you left with just a bit of the rocks near the gulley sticking up or can you get back to where the lighthouse is etc?

As Davy says you can stay on right through the flood. Me and my mate waded off at high water last year. It was only knee deep. Plenty of rock left to stand on if fishing crisps

Cool, might have to give it a try then. I was going to give it a try autumn time last year, but bottled at the last minute. the weather changed and the sea got really rough - and I was all on my own! what a wuss eh? lol

Not a wuss mate if you didn't feel safe then it's the best thing to do. If you were to go in then nobody would know. I've fished over high water a couple of times on there and it's ok mate. Give it a try if you don't feel safe. Sit it out up by the lighthouse.

The rocks on the left hand side you fish from into Crisps at high water stay above water all the way back to the lighthouse. You would have to be careful in a northerly swell at high water they will become swamped.

Don't fish it at high water if there's any sea running, it gets swamped. I prefer it over high tide in the summer as you don't get pestered by the tourists!
