Seems some people forget they only bought a bit of property and not the whole river
The best that we as anglers can do is to treat residents and the areas that they live in with respect. Don't give them grounds to try and get fishing stopped, don't park inconsiderately and tidy up and they will just have to carry on tolerating us.
I have been in touch with the Port of Tyne Authority reguarding the signs, they basically knew nothing about them. I went to St Peters baisn and photographed the sign and sent it to the PTA as they requested, have just recieved this reply
Thanks for the photo, as you say someone must have went to great trouble.
Suffice to say I am reasonably sure that the sign has not been erected by the Port of Tyne Authority.
As to the legality or otherwise of such apparent misrepresentation I make no comment, but I can say that, similar to its erection, its removal would not involve the Port of Tyne authority.
Good post but if i fished there i would be getting the signs removed.
have a feeling the PTA might be getting them down, as they where supposed to be put up by them, which they didn't it was a resident and by using their name of the signs they could be in trouble. If anybody is up that way let me know if they ahve gone.
