got there at 2pm fished the tide up just for a few hours with me dad. was really poor :-( 1 ting n a tiny flatty just down the side on me spinning rod. tide was roaring like rapids. 5oz gripper leads swung round into the bank within seconds. nevermind... got a chance to try my slosh 20 n shaky salt beach mx properly that I got off big g the other week, bloody hell it flies like! Im new to multis n it was landing just short of the boats on the other side with just a little overhead lob :-O. cant wait to see how far a can get it with a hard chuck. chuffed iv got a good piece of kit and for 70 quid for the rod+reel cant go wrong with that! ozzy

If its a big tide fishing it out doesn't matter how far to the right you cast always pulls you into the wall even using a 6oz gripper

aye was unfishable with any size weights really. still nice to get out n chuffed with the reel will go back next week see if its any better. cant wait for the cold to get rid of the crabs and bring in the fish

At least you got to try your new rod and multi mate and yeah the river is hard to fish on big tides I've fished lots of spots on the river and the only one I find not as bad on a big tide is the wide part at jarrow shell terminal
