As Alans map says ,straight down the bank from I.D. over the lights take a left at the mini roundabout follow the road around to the river ,it's the old Hawthorn Leslies site ( if you're old enough to remember it ) .

I served my time at Hawthorn Leslies some 25 year ago and it's in Hebburn.

no not me and did produced some nice codling last year upto 3lb during winter

OI OI,
I fished the basin a few times but im an old walker waller i like it cos it's warm, quiet, & it's steady fishing, if you want less or no snagg's fish from the bend in the road at the bottom of the hill, park up & walk to your left in front of the house's. hope this help's m8ty.
