staged or not

was watching Robson Green's extreme fishing tonight, there was a part were he hooks into a fish which later turnout to be a king mackerel he then starts reeling in, the reel he's using is clearly a fixed spool then all of a sudden it looks to have turned into a multiplier, dont know if any of you sky+ this or watched this and noticed it but would'nt mind a second opinion or two.

I really like the program and find it entertaining despite Robson Green presence, but think that it is more staged than a documentary of his catches, anyone got an opinion this ?

Yer i have spotted that a few times, reel changes or rod changes....the program is not for the hardcore angler really its for general public who dont know a skate from a manta ray...still love it thou its funny and you get to see some strange fish and fishing locations.

I wouldn't say staged, that's what he's paying the guides for, they find the fish and he lands them. I guess its just the same as when they've got 6 rods of the back of the boat, the one that the fish takes they pass straight to him, same applies when the rods are in hand, whoever pulls into a fish gives the rod to him.

Brilliant ! made me laugh

In general the reason for these continuity errors is due to the way the program is edited,if he has said something to camera that works for the show then fishes for 3 hours and gets nowt you could see why they would splice that to him catching on other gear for the sake of the program flow.They may not have him saying anything appropriate when he is holding the different gear,its more about content flow than truth

I can't bring myself to watch it because the man grates on me!! Spoils what could be a good programme.
