Steak Pie-Hogmanay

Feeling a bit better, Mark and I went for coffee and cakes this morning and then to the butchers to pick up our traditional steak pie for tomorrow. There was a lady, about my age, in front of me and she said to the girl behind the counter :

Woman - "A sausage only steak pie please."

Girl - "Pardon?"

Woman - "A sausage only steak pie please."

Girl(confused) - "We do steak only pies and steak and sausage pies."

Woman - "No I want a sausage only steak pie."

Girl - So a sausage pie then?

Woman - "Well yes, I suppose so."

Girl - We don't do sausage pies!"

Only in Scotland, the home of the deep fried Mars bar!!!!! saying that I was in my local chippy the other day and they were selling battered crab sticks! Think it was 5 for a pound, safe to say I stuck to pie and chips.

sounds like you had to be there to appreciate the hilarity of the situation (do they sell sausage then? as you say they don't do saudage)
