New record....blanked in June for the first time in my life

42 miles covered, 14 wrecks tried over 11 hours fishing between 3 of us for 3 fish.

No sign of mackerel, water very dirty upto about 9 miles out and little showing from the wrecks...trying the rough ground Sunday its got that bad :)

Tough luck Richy, really expected to see some great reports today. Was expecting to be really jealous around about now.

Got to improve soon

Jonny

Oh dear........!
If its any consolation fish turned up on the hard ground at last today.... Tough start but picked up as drift slowed around high water, biggest 5lb, average 2 to 3lb with a lot of small stuff under a 1lb. Will put a report up later!

Bad luck lads, it looks like inshore is the answer but you've gotta be in it to win it as they say. The wrecks have got to switch on sooner or later.

Just had to edit our catch report, I had the date as the first of May, I guess I just can't accept it's June.

that's a lot of ground covered
wont be long before your pulling double figure fish from them wrecks
if you don't go to them you don't know
I hope you have better luck on the hard ground jeff

Wow! Rich, that's a hell of a session for little return.:( Hope yous fair better tomorrow mate.
I'll wait till Monday I think, the high pressure will be right over the north east, so little or no wind with only the tide controlling the drift.

Yer i will be trying the hard ground, not my type of fishing but used 2/3 a tank of fuel today for little so worth a bash and i am sure i will sneak out to the wrecks in the afternoon once the drift slows :)

shocking

Much of the same today, planned to fish the rough ground but after about 2hrs of rough ground fishing and 11 small fish landed i left the chance of hitting numbers of 1-3lb fish and went in the search of bigger fsh....as expected not a great deal from the wrecks north either, hit a load of pouting and some cod upto 4lb but not in numbers.

Called Mondays trip off until it picks up on the wrecks...thats if it does???

Guess at the moment its fish for 1-3lb fish close in or dont bother fishing..tough times but thats fishing for you. Always next weekend :)

They're good pan-sized fish Richy, just what's needed to refill the freezer after all the lean months.

Once Again a BIG THANK YOUto Richy (Northeast1) for Saturday and Sunday.
Until The Next Time Richy.

It was hard going on the wrecks, glad you still had a good two days even with my decision to keep trying the wrecks regardless of the rough ground reports being better.

Until Friday/Sat/ Sun until we do it all again :)

Mmmmmmm! I wonder if the carp have finished spawning and would be interested in some boilies so I can remember what a double figure fish looks like.
Me's thinks if things haven't improved after Fridays trip:( :( some how I can't see you requesting a lock out Saturday/Sunday instead you'll plum for a Tope Trip.

Oh! You Already Have :o :o

Ha yer i thought i book a trip up there again...the things you have to do if you want your rod bending err :)

If Fridays "wrecking" trip is a bust again then the following day will see us having a full day up Cresswell...that is if the weather is ok to do the 18 mile trip.

On the plus, Newcastle Uni have just published the data from the two bouys they have off Blyth and it shows a 1.4c increase in the water temp since the 24th of May, they say it is now at 10.6c....bring on the mackerel :)
