Fished my favourite mark on a very wet and windy Roker yesterday for the whole of the flood using 2 rods and lug/fr crab cocktails for the grand total of 6 whiting

Never had a sniff from a codling. Bang goes another season me thinks, although looking through my records, I've had some good bags in the middle of April, so you never know.

Dont usually fish the end myself, like to fish the barrier around 120 yds out,had a few decent sized fish from their in the last 4 months

I always blast straight onto the end, just habit I suppose. Is the barrier where you can fish into the back of the breakers?

It is Charlie. On a moderate tide the barrier is a good low water mark. On a big tide you'll have to move up a little as even the barrier can empty. You'll see when it does how good a mark it is. It's littered with kelpy ros, gulleys and sand. A good mixed ground for all sorts of fish but some big cod have been caught there. Personally I never really do well on the pier - prefer Whitburn rocks myself.
