lovely day out, bagging up on cod, and nice to see quite a few boats out,
when the weathers half decent, just goes to show there's plenty fish out there. and good signs of fish lasting possibly all winter

just nice to be out

just nice to be out

Great stuff Allan, especially this time of the year :D

Well done lads

Norm

aye Norman was just a nice day to be out. for late December, and plenty signs of fish and
feed balls, so maybe the fish have just moved back in again, as you can often get these late
runs of cod. just nobody's normally out as the weathers usually blowy or lumpy and generally
cold than this.
all the fish were lovely firm fish fighting hard and really clean white bellies
hope we get out and get a few more goes at them

Good day out Alan , were you on the drift or at anchor

aye Dave we stuck it out on the drift all day, but we were prepared to anchor up as well
but didn't need to on this occasion.
boats were at anchor picking fish up. but I am sure we picked more up on the drift,
this time round. but a couple of weeks ago we had to anchor up before we picked fish up

That’s a good size of fish Allan, they were all much smaller there a few weeks ago, or was it just the ones I catch. :)
I like to fish the drift there if it’s not too fast and the water is fairly clear. By this time of the year we’ve usually had more big seas to colour the water and necessitate lobbing the anchor over the side.

Zoffno1, have a look about a mile offshore from St Mary’s Island at Whitley Bay and you’ll see the yellow can. Or book a trip with Allan for a close-up view.

deffo good fishing for this time of year lad's, and yes am jealouse.
yellow can, is what it say's m8.
a yellow can, about a mile south westerly of st mary's light house.

still there

still there

Cracking for this time of year allan :D
aye bert cracking fishing as good as half the summer was.
managed another go out yesterday thurs 22nd, it got a little breezy. but the fishing was just as good.
although it did go slightly slower in the afternoon, but still a really excellent days fishing, with again a lovely stamp of fish 5-6lbs.
roll on the spring. I think this years fishing will all kick off double early this coming season.
