As some of you know the wife and me are foodies and get all over trying different places and different food ,anyway if you're in town and fancy a canny Sunday lunch at a canny price then try the Earl Grey pub ...formally FMs and before that The Eldon , It's not the best I've had but for £6.99 for two it's good value and nice as well or you can try Shearers which is marginally better but twice the price .

with me being a mackem steve i would'nt be seen in shearers bar if the lunch was free
but thanx for the tip about the earl grey

p.s. can't go fishing tonight but i bet i still get a bite tonight

yeah we're all going to be rich beyond our wildest dreams

oh wait a minute i dreamt that pay deal last night, the real pay deal is crap, changing our shifts so we get more shift allowance, so we end up where we were 5 years ago but our basic rate is staying the same. six months down the line they say they can't sell the cars so they change our shifts back again and we end up being ripped off

unless you know somethind i do'nt ???

Steve,
When we were up we took my mam (well no, she took us lol) to the Grand Hotel, on the front at the top of the ramp at the south end of Tynemouth beach. Cracking lunch, alright it was £12.50, but when you think that a steak costs that in your bog standard pub, it was really good value, especially as it was for 2 courses plus a seat in the window looking at the sea.

Lol Homer yes I got you there mate although it's easy as it's such an emotive issue with us I suppose .
David I've not been there myself ,the last works Christmas party was there but I decided not to go as at the time they had a terrible write up in the Chronicle and other things relating to people that I work with lol.
