Now i might be just an ovedrly suspicious fisherman but as i Walked from P/lee down to Horden today via the bells steps at about low water and noticed (well it was hard to miss) what looked to be like a very large com vessel trudging up and down horden beach. It must have only been half to 3/4 a mile off shore. After asking around i was told it was there yesterday aswell as other large vessels patrolling up and down the local beaches, now i dont know exactly what they were doing but it didnt look good especially after the little bit sea we have had the last few days and a run of coddy's hitting the beaches. I hope there is a viable explanation. Any ideas or actual facts that might put a mind at rest as my heart fell out of my trouser leg when i saw it.??

i saw that vessel yesterday at about 3 :30 when i left work at seaham, the industrial estate above noses point ..it was a lot bigger than the norm and it did seem to be around the horden area heading north...
i hope it was just a survey boat and not a trawler draging that close to the shore

There was a survey boat off hartlepool last thursday dont know if this is same boat

It's a Survey Vessel, it was off Sunderland on saturday when i was out on the boat, since then it's been working it's way south so nothing to worry about lads

with the fisheries patrol boat all over dont think commercial fishing boats would chance fishing too close in so hats off for being suspicious
