Hi you should of took the RT Axellerator 4-8oz you were offered infact if the guy still has it and is willing to swap for the penn your laughing as a better mixed rough ground winching rod there aint.

the apollo's are a decent rod but honestly the RT is a class rod as anyone who's had one or got one will tell you.

He has not got a converted reel he has got an original 525 Knobby t which were about £200 when new about 8 years ago

they fetch very good money now

I use a 14ft mk 1, its a beast!
I prefer a 6oz lead with mine and I can empty my sl30sh with a decent bait-30lbs line.
They not everyones cup of tea though.
Let me know if you can't get away with it, Ive other rods i could swop you for it!
