tall ships race pics

Tony, Newcastle Quayside is a good shot for big eels, flounders and the odd bass and codling, dare say you will be able to catch them from the bridge as well

Must\'ve been about 11:00 when we got there, Alan.
Already a HUGE crowd and it just got bigger throughout the day.

Lol Alan....fishing from the bridge.......I suppose it would do away with the need for casting......just take the boat rod and jig up & down...hahaha

I was thinking of going on wednesday night when there is quite a bit on, but if it was packed like that at 11am today, might have another think. At least i can remeber all the traditional dancing on the boats the last time and i was on my own boat when they all came out the Tyne, absolutely fantastic, you might not be able to do that this time with the restrictions. Remember one of the big boats nearlt running down a small boat that was there watching, they had to jump for it, silly sod must have though that these boats can manouvre quick. Mind if they had stayed on board the wash from the yacht would have just pushed them awaya. Also got time to catch some mackerel.

Noticed this guy earlier...........bet he wished he\'d come in from the other end........hahahahahaha

Excellent turn out of both boats and spectators ..... :) :) :)
we should all be proud of the north east ...... !

LOL :) to be fair alan they were all brilliant and came alomgside to say hello all full of smiles (and a cracking big wash when the overtook lol)

Everyone (and I`ve never seen the river so busy) was in a great mood (haha I`ve been there three days in a row with various members of the family).

Was a bit more restrictive today (wed) since there was a fair amount of explosive placed in the middle of the river ,see the attached pic, this is one of about 25 rafts anchored to river bottom from bridges to st Peters all filled with pyro and electronic fuses and controls..
