We had another look out of Hartlepool today.
Their was a canny swell going as we got out of the marina but it seemed to settle down a little as we got further out for some reason , then eased off a little more throughout the day.
Turned out to be a canny day weather, sea state and fish wise.
The water close in was like chocolate so we headed a bit further out to a wreck about 4 mile. We picked up a couple of 5lb ers here but then it slowed down and got a bit cramped with other boats, so we decided to head even further out to try a new wreck I had in mind about 9 mile off. On getting their the water was loads clearer and on the first drift we were straight into the codling. Ended up loosing a load of gear but it was worth it.
We could have almost filled the boat with codling between 4-6 lbs today.
As usuall we put the majority back and kept a few each for the pot.
Had a crackin day out.
Spoke to the lads fishing Evlyn Jane while we were out next to them and one of them had a nice cod of 22 lb , looked a nice fish.
