Hi everybody
Tim out of Temples is organising an open comp for 23rd Jan 7-10.30pm. in aid of the disaster fund. The success of this event depends upon the prizes we can get. Anyone who can scrounge a prize from their works or local tackle shop contact Tim on 07906896752. Better still if you can get a major sponsor this would be a great help.

Me thinks I can get my hands on canny sized frozen duck aslong as my gaffer dos\'nt read this, I canalso get my mitts on a turkey, but I doubt if anyone will be interested in that???

Any information on entry fees and boundaries Alan.

May not be able to get a prize but at least I can enter the competition.

Just incase anybody\'s under the same misunderstanding as I was.....

Tim is organising this off his own bat.....not as \"Temples\"

I was also a bit confused as to what \"major sponsor\" meant.
Alan has clarified that.......\"by a major
sponsor/s, abig firm that somebody may work for etc, i mean someone willing
to put up a couple of hundred for the first prize to get anglers interested.\"

There is nothing definate yet as to boundaries, would think it will be from the Tyne upover, even the date may be changed to the 22nd, Saturday night instead of Sunday night. Tim has just started getting the event off the ground tonight, and already has good donations from Greys, Sea Bait and Mainstream. All prizes greatly accepetd, even a turkey Tich, sure if you told your gaffa what it was for he would not mind donating. Sorry about the little bit of confusion my first post caused.

Just a little update, the date will be Sat 22nd Jan, fish 6-10pm. Tim has already got something like £3,000 worth of prizes donated, with cash coming in as well. Remember the more the merrier, come on lads get round your local clubs, pubs, restaurants and see what you can drum up.

Out of interest can you post here if you have managed to get a prize, and to let others see the effort you have put into the match to help those in need

just a suggestion if someone could pass it onto tim, i think in the circumstances it may be wiser to make it all prizes rather than cash for the winner. i for one if lucky enough to win would feel a tad uncomfortable picking up cash as a prize. under the circumstances i think a big turn out is guaranteed regardless of cash, as long as it is well publicised.

if it was a cash prize, and in the highly unlikely event of me winning it, I\'d want to throw it sttraight back for the fund.

a comp like this is more about raising money than winning it

just won 12 cans beer in fishing club spirit draw when i get it its yours sorry cant afford anything else at the moment ,,unless i win the lotto,,,, well its looks like the beers yours, best of luck with prizes and turn out if poss me and the miisses will be fishing.

the prizes will be determined by what is donated, if someone donates a wad of cash, well i dont think it will be refused. What you do with it if you win it is entirely up to you. Other comps for charity Tynemouth Open etc have cash prizes. The donation to charityis always more than the cash prize. Thanks for the beers.

i\'m of the same mind as mark, in these circumstances i would have to throw the money back in, my conscience would not allow me to do any other. i think most people would be of the same mind.

the bairn is either very advanced in the ways of psychology, or I\'m just cynical. Was in the bank today and unprompted by me she fished out aher Xmas money and hoyed it in the fund!

Nearly had me in tears

the pschology part comes in to force when 5 mins later give her the same amount back!

god bless her tho.

Thats kids for y\'a whats yours is mine & whats mine is yours,,,& what is left over it belongs to me !??? A little bit like the Missus, Im glad I don\'t have one....... All the best .... Cheers Tich
