did anyone read the news of the world on sunday about fish the writer says the roker pier theres codling feeding .what aload of bull, whats your thoughts on it ?

Sunday daytime there was nothing but coalies, postage flatties and very small codling (babies). I must have saw over 50 fish caught in the hour and a half I was there but not one sized.

Got to say that if you read the news of the world you know what is in it, why were you looking for something truthfull in the first place????

I will repeat what I have said lots of times on here, if you want the truth, don't buy a newspaper, especially one of that reputation.

Jim.

the echo tells a load of shite hall beach fishing well it said on thursday
nothing been caught but small tommies and whiting

Wrong...Jack Melton who writes for the Echo was actually fishing next to me when I came second in my xmas match from the HALL BEACH... with a bag of whiting....
Maybe if more people gave these angling journo's more, correct and precise information, then their column's would not be full of shite!
I used to write Jack's column for him when he was on holiday, and used to collect all my own info, and do a few swapsies with Mr. Charlton....

The fishing column is only as good as the information given. Some anglers prefer not to give information freely but expect to recieve freely.

The best way to collect info is to get out there and look, if i am driving past a fishing mark and i see lights, then i cant help myself i have to stop and have a nose.

Give your local tackle shop a call if its near the coast, they should be able to give you up to date info, but dont ask them what bait cos most will tell you what they have the most of has been doing really well.

Then there is also forums like this one which is as up to date as you can get for the north east.
