bit late to ask as im going at half nine this morning.got frozen crab/muscle/bit of squid and I keep trying a bit of clam, also got some fresh macky I caught yesterday so ill might aswell add a bit into a cocktail.ive fished here a couple of times and blanked, ive seen posts on another local forum from billzo and he seems to like the crescent in the summer.ive fished into it then gone right as tide drops and cast towards st marys,is this best side of crescent,.low water 12-30 so ill get there for 9-30 and follow tide down.anyone have any luck here in the summer ?

not worth putting in catch reports as caught nowt, fished 3 times here now and blanked all 3.heres a few pics anyway, was a bit of a west wind blowing.on the up side I got to try my new t1000 and c14 reel and only gear I lost was two hooks, using 30lb hook snoods as was using 44lb braid main line, lots of rod rattles and one good pull down that led to me being hung up and hook link snapped, might go up to 40lb hook snood but id be up near main line strength so would risk snapping braid when hung up

first pic from car,can see the skeer starting to show,i cast up the middle from here into the crescent itself, couple knocks but nothing caught and nothing lost
then went on right side of crescent and blasted bait towards end of st marys, lots of knocks but nowt caught and two hooks lost

baits used in cocktail,crab-muscle-clam and squid, used some cany links I got of the guy on here a couple of years ago, used on pully rigs and had no problem with them, worked a treat

last pics of Hartley island.when I got back to car and looked down thought to myself, should have gone on Hartley skeer as looked loads more kelp and all the pots were round that area

Hartley island is a better summer shot only accessable on bigger tides,as bilzo will point out,you could have followed the skeer down in your photo on to the next skeer in front of your rod stand and cast to the back of st marys, hartley island is one of bilzo,s fav shots. davy.

spot on dave m8.
i always fish in2 the crescent itself as soon as u can get round the beach then as it dries out i hit the north end of the island chucking up the skeer that shows on the bigger tides, there is a little narrow gully that runs out parallel with the skeer on the left, also good mark in a northerly swell in winter.
