the sea is away

just been down to the harbour, had 2 chucks would have stayed longer but, the lad i was with had to go. So didnt feel to happy stay on me own and it was just a tad on the windy side.

curtis

was that you i was speaking to on the way back up the bank? if not it will have been ya mate.
i thought the harbour would have been ok :0(
i seen the rods in the water and thought id pop down then when i seen yas heading back thought better of it.
drove to blyth got out the bandstand, took one look at the pier and got back in the motor.
went to cambois, sea was ok but cudnt cast too windy! thought id have a chuck seeing as id made the journey, reeled back in after the wind blew me sinker 90 degrees to the left, picked up me gear and headed home.
its one if those days you just have to accept its no good.
gutted, its the only chance ive got for a while.

Fishing in this...... Bonkers!
Went down tynemouth today and nearly lost the car door because of the wind, sea is huge and unfishable also.
Let it die down so you can actually hold the bottom and fish safe, by that time the fish will have moved in for the dislodged free food.

That's just my opinion, if people want to fish in it carry on but be as safe as you can. Fishing is a passion/ hobby not a necessity.

yip, even if you find somewhere safe, its defo not gona be enjoyable

You can go and risk your life all you want BUT when you choose to advise people on where to fish a mark thats dangerous at the best of times like Souter, never mind in a gale force wind when its been Lashing down with rain.

Thats just being an idiot.

im not telling the bloke what to do,hes probably got more experience than me,ive only been fishing these marks about 5 years, but a bloke i fish with has fished for over 40yrs and told me never to fish souter carpark(north row),especially when its raining, its all mud and has been known for massive slabs to give way with no time for you to do anything, just passing on bit info that ive took notice of,cheers

Me and me owld mate Hooker had made plans to fish Horden today, I was up at 5 and doon te his hoose by 6.30. Drove doon te the car park and had a walk doon to the beach. The sea wiz massive and it was blowin' a hooly. Ye could hardly keep yer feet.
So we turned roond and got back in the Landrover and headed to the Brigade Hut at shields. With the wind coming from the south it was a great windbreak. Fished from 9 till 2 got nowt but a rockling on Hookers rod and a couple iv crabs.
