the witch is dead

When I realised Margaret Thatcher was dead, I did a double fist pump and shouted, "****ing brilliant!" Everyone around me was disgusted, and looking back, I suppose it was out of order.Especially as I was the first paramedic at the scene.

"I will mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy". - Martin Luther King

And look where that got him.

Like her or loathe her she was the last true leader this country has had, she believed in what she was doing and wouldn't comprimise her beliefs just to win votes. A lot better than the namby pamby political leaders of all parties we have had since that will comprise on anything just to win a few votes, i have a lot more respect for thatcher (although with the benefit of hindsight some of her policies were simply wrong) than i do for any other PM in my lifetime.
RIP Maggie

I totally disagree with you there Micky. Her lack of compromise you mention was a pig headed disregard for people in general and a total disregard for the less well off in this country. Ok, the nationalised industries weren't working but they needed reform, not to be torn apart and sold to the highest bidder leaving hundreds of thousands of people out of work. The Thatcher regime was the closest thing to a totalitarian dictatorship that we have had, so if having a social conscience is namby pamby then I'll live with it. You talk about hindsight but with a little bit of foresight, thinking and good management a lot more people could have stayed in employment. Cameron is no better charging into deficit reduction measures with the same disregard for working people.
I was a school leaver in the Thatcher era and found it almost impossible to get work or training. I have nothing but contempt for the woman and certainly won't mourn her.
RIH Maggie.

There was a trumped up Austrian that did the same 64 years ago Micky.
David Cameron is no better,he is doing exactly the same to this country as she did.

I am sure he is the b@stard child of Magie and Norman Tebbitt......

Well said :exclam:

23 Mines closed, plus associated supply businesses, ship building decimated,
communities ripped apart.......but hey, she supplied Nissan and the Metro Centre .....Hope she rots in hell, the stubborn, self centred, single minded b!tch.......from an ex miner that used to once live in a thriving pit village....that is now a waste land.....:mad:

Traces of cyanide hav been found at maggie thatchers home, paulo di canio has since been arrested and police hav taken his passport. the Durham minors association have now returned ther flag to Sunderland afc!

Loads of analogies on this and other message boards between mrs thatcher and people from history such as adolf hitler, what rubbish, they were dictators she was democratically elected THREE times by the people of this country, so this view that everyone hated her is twaddle, this country needs a strong leader and unfortunately since mrs thatcher we have had no one with real leadership qualities in power. I dissagreed strongly with some of her policies and strongly supported others, but one thing i do is admire her strength and self belief. If only we had a leader now with her personal integrity.

We have "leader" now with her personal integrity.

Like you said Mick she believed in what she was doing and didn't give a monkeys toss about anyone else's beliefs, as an ex miner she devastated my family by putting my father, me and 2 of my brothers on the dole, I personally hope she Rots in hell for putting my family through that!

No we dont !

Would mrs thatcher ever have compromised her beliefs and formed a coalition with someone she dissagreed with on many issues just to get into office, i dont think so. Without principles and belief in ourself we are nothing. Dont get me wrong here, yes i am a tory but dissagreed with some of her policies but admire her strength of belief in what she was doing. The compromise politics we have seen over recent times have hurt this country a hell of a lot more.

Really mate, democratically elected!?

In her three victories the Tory party failed to reach even 44% of the votes polled. So on her best result over 56% voted against her. If you think that is democratic and proves she wasn't hated, you need a reality check!
