Anybody know a welder that may be able to tig weld the aluminium casings on my jet ski engine, or if anyone is selling a Tig Weder i would be interested in buying one

You can hire them pretty cheap, had to hire a few in the past when we've had sets gone down. The hire price usually includes consumables.
If they are cast components, you may even need a pre-heating solution, not the easiest material to weld :-\

armstrong engineering, bottom of westgate road where the bike shops are Bob. re-welded the ally casing on the box of an outboard for me a couple of years back and welded one of the fins back on. charged me 40 quid and made a canny job of it too considering it was some wierd aluminium alloy casting

i will also have a word with someone tomorrow to see if he will do it. next to nothing if he will :D and only next to benton asda.

Cheers lads thanks for the reply, have been to Armstrongs but the lad who may do it is on holiday for two weeks........not that i am in any great hurry, just thought i would ask the on here swell.
It would be quite an awkward fiddley job for someone to do though.

Hows life treating you Mark, not seen you on for a while.

You will need to hire an AC tig inverter you can't weld Ali with a DC unit.if you were to mig weld it you would use cougar as the gas not argon like with the tig unit, hope this helps pal
