Time for a new toy

Ok i started fishing in Jan and just bought the cheepest rod and reel the ID had in payed £40 for rod and reel, have got into fishing big style now and am thinking of buying a better rod and reel to improve my casting and fish tally. I fish of rocks off the pier the beach and the river so am looking for a good all round rod. I have a fixed spool at the moment would a multiplyer give me extra yards on my cast ?,. lloing to spend no more than £200 if possible.

I use a Penn 535 GS,i find it a good allround reel,can get a decent cast with it,and is suitable for beach or pier fishing,ive even used it on the boat on the inshore rough ground marks.

I wont comment on my rod as its absolutly horrendous,and im in need of a new one myself.

I find it very difficult to cast with a 535, much easier with a 525 SuperMag, but that's probably just me.

The Ron Thompson Axellerator is a good all round rod and good value for money.

Nothing wrong with Fixed Spool reels mate but they are'nt much use on the rocks,the casting is all down to you,practice makes perfect,just remember though the fish are normally just a few yards in front of you if you are fishing from the rock edges.
I'd go with Keiths suggestion for the rod and maybe a Penn 525 mag or a Daiwa Slosh 20 or 30,if you shop around you should pick them up for £160/£170 all in

cheers for the advice lads.. have just been to Reel Sports and ordered one of his VFM Sport rods check out the link below. Just need to get used to casting with a multiplyer now
