Tips On Organising Seat Box?

use to try keeping mine tidy....now i just save throw it all in as by the time i get to the chosen fishing mark it looks like its been thrown in anyway lol

mind i do keep threatening to sort it out someday but whenever i look at the box i think of something else to do instead :)

sort out what you dont need to take and leave it at home. I use tronix box to keep rigs in and carry a spare reel, plastic tub which has weights and a knife in and a spare mantel and thats it apart from shock leader

Every bit of my gear is individually kept in a bag pouch or case, I know whats in which one, so there's no loosing bits and pieces all over the box, my baiting needles and my scissors are fastened to the sides of the box as you can see. My box never stinks as I keep my bait in a bait bag or bucket.

Hell, I wouldn't need to wrap me sarnies up if my box looked like that.:eek::D

I've just bought my first seat box aswell. I've just bought a load of cheap tuppawear boxes from the £1 shop.

I've been looking around though and you can get a deep tray that fits inside, then an accessories tray that fits on top of that.

I have a tronix rig winder box in mine with about 20-30 ready rigs, One compartment is for chemicl lights, tape etc. I use and sandwich box for weights. Reels are in reel bags. Plastic box for worms. Always seem to take more stuff than i need.

The one thing that is getting on my tits about my new box is the self closing lid.

What you need mate is the most important accessory for your box, not available in a tackle shop near you lol! Here are a couple of snaps to show you what I mean:

It's made, in my case, from an old piece of door threshold stuff (what holds your carpet down) but you could use just about anything. Takes only a few minutes to make & fit; cut to length with a hacksaw, file off any sharp edges & drill a small hole in the side of your box & fit with a small nut, bolt & a couple of washers. It folds forward when you want to close the lid & fits snugly along the inside of the box - cut to length first then position to drill the hole, making sure that it fits under one of the plastic ridges under the lid & is not too long to fold down.

Job done & no more slammed fingers when the wind blows:)

Gary :)
