Tope Record?

Didn't realise that Alan, I don't think it's been posted here though before, could be wrong for a change like ; 0. Was there any consensus on the other forums?

I still think it was a disgrace (If it could have gone back?) Looked no different to tiger hunting photos of old. Was there not a very large tope caught and killed in a net not so long ago, that possibly could have been released, which eventually sold for about £12? I remember that being discussed here. Bearing in mind this info came from The Sun this fish was caught from the shore on rod and line down Devon way. Is it the same story Alan?

Totally agree Ell, saddened me when I seen him posing with the fish in the Sun. In this age of camera phones etc, he could have took a pic of the fish.

Looks like he just wanted his name in the record books.

This is a quote from a post on Anglers Net about the said tope .

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap2.gif) I've just spoken to the angler involved and got permission to use his pictures. He said that the fish wasn't killed but it didn't recover after almost an hour of trying to revive it. Then as it was dead he decided to get it weighed properly as it had bottomed his 55lb scales. He had been fishing for big tope for 3 days and had put several back alive. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap2.gif

Still a shame it died suppose you just have to believe him.

Since Anglers Net belongs to Elton I dont suppose it matters to copy and paste info over but as a rule information on other sites is normally the property of that site and permission must be obtained to use it.
Thanks for the info Arc :)
