Twin steps to the Heugh Photos at low tide

Just a few pics that might help you out when deciding where to fish between the Twin steps and the Heugh.
The first pic is directly off the Twin steps as you can see you have about 150-200yds from the rails to reach the rocks.

The next one is a picture taken directly at the end of Corporation drive (the ramp). This is approx 500 meters further right (when facing the sea) from the twin steps.

The next picture is taken about 300 yards down and show the waste pipe running out to sea and as you can see the ground is not all that bad. You find this spot by looking over the handrail and spotting a big block against the wall (see bottom of picture).

The next two pictures are in front of the large gun placement about another 300 yards further down, as you can see by the paint marks they aint hard to miss. The ground here is very rough and you maybe better off with spark plugs etc.

I hope these pic's help you see whats under the water

first pic; thats a nice shot of 'the flat' chuck into there as the tide is flooding up the beach, or from the prom if ya can reach :)

Second pic; thats very close to one of my favourite prom marks - 'hole in the wall' a 50-60yd lob into that white rock used to fish well with a nice swell running in.

third pic; just slightly to far south for the 'hole in the wall' ground starts getting a little rough now.

Fourth pic; bit rough here mind, top right of the pic you can just see 'charlie grays run', short lob from the prom, but you will lose gear.

Fith pic; a nice photo of the 'folly' (mid tide shot) and the 'folly rock' (low water shot) ive had some good sessions out of here considering you cant fish here for that long! :)

the last two pics; ive never known anyone fish there in the 26 years ive fished/lived on the headland, im sure people have at some point tho! :)

nice pics :)

Thanks Steve, i must admit i have never fished around the gun turret at all, maybe just know that you will lose a bundle of rigs.

Your comment had me laughing Sid, its a pity they didn't leave the other wader as well because they fit perfect lol but we all forget gear when out on a night.

In all the years of fishing Hartlepool never fished past picture 3. Very rough ground and a tackle loss nighmare.
I usually aim for the twin steps and then to the left along the prom. I suppose its safe fishing as you are on sand at high tide so i don,t lose lead.
My Uncle Eddy when i was a lad regularly fished of the lighthouse corner straight out.
I have had a few session of there using 30lb line all the way through and when you get stuck its kelp-i know as i have pulled plenty up.
I have no doubt in the right conditions all of the rough ground with the gulleys will throw up decent fish.
Bet it would be great in a kayak drifting up and down with some shads.
Mick.

Very useful pics those, cheers mate.

Its an area i've fancied trying for a while, but just havent got round to it.

great pictures Griff.

I favour this shot further around. good at low water off the island.

and a good cast off the top at high water is productive too.
