well, another half decent session on the pier last night, very similar result to the last visit 2 weeks ago. had two tommys at first under a pound which were put back, then one about 2.5lb.
mid tide had loads of slack line, fish was on but came free:mad:
anyway, turned round to bait up and i thought a seagul caught my line, on second rod .. no, it was a bite:D
played the fish in easy enough,, nice........7lb (estimated weight)

get yourself on the south or the north drum head or hawthorn point great venues you cant go wrong.

obviously be very safety wise on the piers dangerous if any sea running.

Nice Fish,

Excellent catch there mate, What pier were you fishing if you dont mind me asking:question: i've just getting back from offshore and was going to fish either blyth pier or lynemouth beach tomorrow. High Water

Cheers in advance.

Dean-its been hard going but i,m like you the towels not going in until mid March. Its the season for lunkers an i,m still looking to get my first doubler-thats not going to happen sitting in the house.
Mick.
Swally looks like Dean was fishing at Seaham on the South pier. Very good spot but rocky as oot.

but as said before its hard work getting down with all them leads in ya box or backpack take care on these big seas also not advisable to advertise on piers with no railings :(

Nice result for you there mate, re-affirms my hopes that there's still time to get a good-un before the spring!

Cheers, Gary :)

nice fish! nice to see them still coming in, some one mentioned hawthorn point in the thread just to let yas know, theres bin quite abit of erosion to the flat rock, the majority being washed away, you can still get a cast but theres also been a canny mud slide and the path down is more or less gone, can still gain access but ide stay away in wet weather looks pretty dodgy and extremely muddy as i found out. the south point seems ok but ide take a look at the base of the point at low water to see if the overhang has got any worse before i clambered back on, hope info handy dint like hearing bout nee more fishing accidents if it can be helped
