Tyne at Copthorne Hotel

Hi all have recently moved to Newcastle and was thinking of fishing the Tyne opposite the Copthorne on Friday. Does anybody have any advice? I've heard it's mainly flatties. Are there any other good marks nearby?

i about few miles along road placed called st peters basin,canny spot can park your car right on top and fish from car,safe for kids to me lass has had some canny fish so have kids on crab lines lol bottom pic was on crab line just droped over side

just a word of advice mate,the tides are rather large for the river this weekend and it will be pulling like an express train on the flood

you wont be able to hold the bottom like not with these tides you should only fish the river on small tides me and carver 20 have fished st peters 100's of times and only blanked when the tides were too big

Cheers for the advice guys, would it be better to try South Shields pier instead?
