Tyne for tonight need mark advice Walker

Where does one fish around Walker Riverside Park. Is it the Car Park area just upstream to Wellstream, or does one fish from the quay downstream?
Never been there so a heads up on the area greatly appreciated.#

carpark area isnt it opposite international paints if its still there

wouldnt want to fish there during the day by myself let alone on a night lol

The place opposite side of water to international paints is Pottery Bank (Bottom of) I believe, fished there a few month ago, narrow road running adjacent to the river with a few parking places scattered along it. Nice comfy boot fishing. But as the prev posted commented, not the most social part of the town but as long as you can handle yourself lol

Pottery Bank

Pottery Bank

You were right first time,Walker Riverside Park, commonly known as Pottery Bank as this is name of accesss road down to it,as far as I remember. Not fished it for a few years since lived next to St Peters Basin, another good easy mark, same side of river just upstream of Walker Riverside.

For your future information, can fish very well for Codlings just after spring tides,as the fish will run further upstream, also flounders, whiting and eels.Would not be surprised at the moment if it would fish very well with all the small codling down stream at Jarrow, Hebburn etc in the river, well worth a try.Crabs always good early on or whites, then lug and rag later in winter November onwards.

Can always through up good bags and a decent fish or two later in the winter,Ive seen them to 7lb and known of bigger ones, although maybe not now as every where else these days.Might surprise a few people, easy out the car door fishing, two hook flapper, 20 to 50 yards casting.

two seperate marks riverside park behind flats next to wellstream, pottery bank futher up turn left at traffic lights down to prom oppsite internatiol paints easy marks to fish good for kids ,always plenty of people fishing . davy :red:
