justcome back from jarrow police jetty what a state the place was in. i filled two bin liners with rubbish there was everything from a sock to some used rubber things :o didnt touch them sorry i could not face that.i would like to thank the two lads from hartlepool working mans club who helped me clean the place up (cheers lads:thumbup: )only caught one of the lads name he was called tess also thanks to the other lad who gave me a pair of rubber gloves i left mine in the house.i was wondering if you lot could come up with some ideas for a sign to put down there something along the lines of ANY RUBBISH LEFT HERE AFTER YOU WILL BE SHOVED UP YOUR A**E THE NEXT TIME YOUR HERE.it really hacked me off today cos most of the rubbish was empty beer cans and fishing line if you need to empty your spool pleasetake the old line home cut it up and put it in the bin,not saying that you lot dont mind.also had a few casts while i was down there guess what i blanked again the two other lads blanked aswell

i know what you mean mate i could have spent all day down there picking other peoples sh*t up after them all it would take is for a few people to take their rubbish home i dont think its too much to ask but its like banging your head against the wall :casstet: :casstet: i dont think much of the rubbish was from die hard fisher people cos there was loads of empty beer cans there  pitty the people drinking them and leaving them thrown all over didnt fall in the river :p that would teach them:D

You'd be surprised mate
well done all the same Daren :)

Bins don't make much difference either. just go to the Walkway or Glass Centre sort of venue where there's bins galore and the sh*t is still strewn everywhere. Some people can't even walk a few paces to ditch their rubbish.

Some Fantastic Pics Paul Just One Q..... That Last Pic With The Little Harbour Where Is It Mate

Cheers.....
Mate.....
Paul.....

Harra it's St Abbs and Paul, I should have replied to this ages ago. Will try to get a copy posted with a few comments about the village asap. Chances of moving to St Abbs or the like are slipping away.

Right, I hope. It's no secret that rather than a dream retirement home in Spain we'd much rather have a house overlooking the sea, a couple of dogs and perhaps a B&B for all you lot to stay in. Where we stay (Castle Rock) would be ideal but not available. A place came up in the street back from the harbour. It was a 4 bedroomed B&B. It was bought by two doctors who now use it as a second home, I believe. The annotation of Pauls picture shows just how difficult it is to move to somewhere like St Abbs (and how impossible it is for the locals to stay in their OWN village.

Cheers Mate St Abbs Looks Like A Fantastic Little Village And Harbour Rocks Look Good For Fishing To.

stores i was talking to a couple of lads the other day they said that you cant fish st abbs cos its a wild life reserve and there is someone there who will throw you off the rocks espescially when the birds are nesting there is this true mate or were they pulling my leg:confused:

Have had a few interesting conversations with the wardens or guides or workers who are attached to the reserve. My opinion is that they don't have the power to stop you fishing and it's only really around the Head that you come into contact with the birds. I also believe that it's worth the time to talk to these people. They're intelligent, knowlegable folk who have the welfare of the reserve at heart and want to look after it. My experience is that once they're happy with your approach they'll back off and let you on your way. Play your face and, like everyone else, they'll get stroppy with you. Had a productive conversation with a young girl via e-mail last summer.....STOP IT. Rod and me had noticed a webcam above White Heugh and I e-mailed her to ask if we could access it. She replied it was for watching the hatchlings, I mentioned the book, she asked what we had seen whilst fishing, I replied, she added it to the database. Progress made.
Tell you what - they love you if you stagger back up the cliffs with a carrier bag full of someone elses sh**e. My other angle on this is that the birds are perfectly capable of looking after themselves, having been spat on, shat on and half deafened during the arguing season, let alone the mating season.

thanks for that info mate i am always plesant so i should have no bother up there as for taking others sh*it away i can do that aswell ill even put a sign up for them:D

Daren, if you fancy a session up there then just let us know mate.

There will be a few trips up that way when the sea flattens off for the summer. Paul (fishfinder) and myself will be up that way quite a bit, if you fancy a go just send us a PM and we can get it sorted out mate.

That goes for anyone that wants to have a go for some red Cod and promises not to leave any rubbish behind. You are all more than welcome.

Jim.
