Tynemouth Pier 15/6/11

Cheers lads
The fish was 7lb as i weighed it three times as i couldnt believe it my self and as you see anthdunn has backed it up as he was there and hand balled it up for me cheers mate. If the fish was 3 1/2 5lb i would of said it would still of been a PB for me and why lie? Some times you have to take risks to get results and as you can see it paid off and i will carry on doing it people fish south shields pier day and night nothing is said or done and it has the same signs and controlled by the same authority. Tight Lines!!!!

Anyone know exactly why we're not allowed off the north pier? I mean I can't see how they can let you go off the south then use some b/s like health and safety to keep you off the north...

what type of scales did you use???

this one weighed 7lb on digital scales

Exactly my point mate, the piers are covered and watched over during the day, but at night hardly anything or nothing is done or watched on both.

AND since ya fish is defo 7lb, an even bigger well done from me is deserved so, Well done!:D

look at this, a 7lb (gutted) cod should measure about 28" which is about 71cm.
a 60cm cod (just under 24") should weigh just over 4lb (gutted)

How much weight does a fish usually lose after gutting like Tony? Am guessin Spunky weighed this before he gutted it

i think that fish weighs about 4-5lb looking at the size of the stomach on the fish it wouldn't have 3lb of guts which it would need to make 4lb into 7lb.

ive seen fish in the winter after a big blow that have ate loads of food and a fish the size of a 4lb'er could weigh about 7lb but thats only with a huge stomach. that fish looks empty.

It had one small edible crab in side it if you have nothing positive to say mate keep it to your self. And to the rest of you the fish was weighed it was 7lb like it or lump it but don't be a hater

its not about being a hater, you's are claiming that fish weighed 7lb, that fish DID NOT weigh 7lb, its more like 4lb if that. ive caught loads of cod about that size and my pb from the shore is just over 4lb and my biggest from the boat it 7lb so i'd like to think i can tell the difference between 4lb and 7lb.

ive fished for 16 years, how long have you fished?????
how many 4lb and 7lb cod have you caught?????

most anglers on this forum only need to look at a fish and we can give an estimated weight of a fish.

if i thought that fish did weigh 7lb i'd gladly say well done, chuffed for you as its a good fish for this time of year but there's no way its 7lb, so does that make me a hater??? no it makes me an experienced angler who can tell the difference between a 4lb fish and a 7lb fish.
