fished last night from 8pm to 1am this morning, the end was chokka so I fished at the four posts into the river. loads of little rattles but nowt special, ended up getting a little whitie and a undersized codling, plump little thing but still undersized so went back to fight another day. when I left I went to the lad just up from me to see if he wanted my left over bait, asked if he had owt, " aye ive got 5 codling" shines his light into the archway and sure enough theres 5 fish lying, all WAY undersized, im not one to judge but I couldn't help but think what a shame, why would anyone keep fish that small? wouldn't of got a fish cake out of the 5 of them, the biggest was smaller than the one I hoyed back, each to their own I suppose, maybe im aiming to high, anyway I didn't blank, which made a change! lol.

IV seen a few people make genuine mistakes I always fint saying to them are they legal size does the trick lol it shames them a bit

Agreed, they probably do not know the legal size.
Then again these could be the same people who year after year catch 50 macky and then just leave them on the pier baking in the sun when they have had enough

God knows lads, their was two of them fishing (him and his fatha) when I went to give him the bait he said his fatha was away up the top for a few casts so youd think between the two of them theyed know the score, but like you say their might have been a genuine reason but don't know what.

Aye it's the little ones muppets like that who haven't got a clue what sizes to keep, leave their litter and leave the pier stinking of p### that's going to spoil it for everyone.
