Tynemouth Tuesday night

Went down tynemouth in search of pollock. Wasn't as productive as I had hoped but did hook into a huge fish. The float shot under and what felt like I had been stuck solid until it gave a big head shake up popped a fish near double figures another head shake and my 8lb hook length was snapped in two and the fish was gone. Absolutely gutted. But did manage to catch another pollock although smaller still put up a cracking scrap. Another lad caught one slightly bigger which I took off his hands. Left just after midnight pleased with what I did catch.

Forgot to mention I also had an undersize pollock which was returned alive

Saves losing the float if snagged. An 8lb hook length can play a much bigger fish if it doesn't fight too hard and you play the fish right. And it was either 8lb or 25lb and I seem the **** Scotty got for using heavy line

I lost a real good Pollack on a shad lure fishing the blocks at South Shields. The knot slipped out as I tried to lift it out of the water. Hard luck on yours.

Mick.
