It could be a health and safety issue, and that means the land owner would have to pay for you to walk through their land, as in insurance would go up.
If thats the case i would have thought they might of had the decency to notify about it.
and i dont think bein violent to them would help
Your right about that just get your self in bother, I can understand getting angry about it but its not them in the firing line:eek:

i mate thats wat me and me mate think there is a side walk we go on just so the truck see us its just guttin to know we have been doin them for that long and me father was doin them before me gunna look for another way in from a diffrent end so we arnt walkint through there land

i could mate but havent got one it just guts me knowing me dad dun them for twenty odd years and know one had any problems but now health and saftey i would understand if we were chaves me and me mate but were adults just gettin crab for bait

Can you not meet the land owner and explain you predicament, he might let you on if you take the right precautions, i.e high viz, hard hat etc..:)

wat the sign actually reads is NO FISHING AND NO CRAB RETRIEVAL right next to a sign which reads UNDER THE 1993 PORT AND SHIPPING ACT IT IS ILLEGAL TO PASS THIS POINT, which is owned by port of tyne,it all bolils down to health and safety as they pulled us up 2 year ago after they put up a pedestrian waslkway from the car park to thje offices saying they were concerned aout us getting injured with haevey lorries comming and going along the road we walk, then kept to the walkway and thought we satisfied them when we started wearing high vis jackets which we have the last few years so we hoping the signs are just put up to cover their backs and they carry on letting us crab there, so am keeping fingers crossed and we can carry on crabbing

na gav mate nowt yet but i think they will like just waitin to see and gav every one knows who iam now lolololololololo

seems if I wiill have to answer on the little info given, nobody can stop you from fishing or collecting bait, this has already been proven in the High Court in the Anderson V Alnwick district council case, so would suggest that you just ignore the sign and carry on fishing and collecting bait. If you cross over private land and there is no desiganted pathway you could be brought up for tresspass, a civil matter.
