well chaps i was on here a couple of months back sayin we were goin to be stopped doin our tyres they havnt said anything to us lately but went to do them today was half way through doin them wen the boss of the company wee we do them told me i had to stop doin them wats i goin to do now me and me mate are sick as a chip been doin them for years i think its all to do wirh health and saftey

Ask the owner/boss if you were to submit risk assessments and method statements for the work, would he let you continue. If he will, get back in touch with me, I will sort some out and you can supply me with some free crab. Its a long shot though.

I would ask them if you can sign a decleration form basically saying that they weren't liable if you get hurt mate.
We tried a similar thing for access to Sunderland docks with the help of a local councillor, apparently by law,you cannot sign a disclaimer for a area as the owner is still liable for anyone with permission to be on his property, and health and safety will be use as the reason in 99% of the cases ....

its all down health and safety they claim the jetties are dangerous and if we get injured they would be liable , i pleaded and was practically begging and even suggested signing some sort of a disclaimer to let us carry on crabbing but said they would still be liable if they cross rtheir land and got injured .

and if we ignored them they would bring ithe police and if climb over fence on a night they buiuld gate higher and make it even more difficult to climb over

as far I as am concerened if you where doing your tyres they could not stop you, they have no jurisdiction over the river bed, and if you have been crossing a certain piece of land for thirty years you could probably get it deemed as a right of way.
