Update my rod....?

ive been given this rod, century ignitor.
just cause im anal about looks i want it black, tried sanding it.
wot a novice, i know
all eyes are ok just want the rod black and new grip tubing, from the bottom of the rod to about 1ft above the reel.

any one have any input were to get this done and how much to get it done, would be much appreciated

not used the rod much, and im not a very good angler, or have very much knowledge of what is good and what is not, so couldn't spot a good rod out a mile away, i know century is a good manufacture so want to hang onto it if it will better my fishing
