does anyone know if its fishing again? (st peters area) fancie a few hours after work in the next few days just wana see if its worth the bother

im on me last nightshift tonight so will probs hit the coast sometime in the next few days if you want picking up on the way through. i might even try the tyne if its not still full o fresh water, i guess theres only one way to find out tho but the chance of a shore biggy is more tempting than a gamble on the tyne but then again just look at that fish you pulled out the basin!

I haven't fished it for about 3 weeks but the river is full of undersized codlings I had 8 the last time I fished and the bigest was 27cm. I'd try further down river.

i usually check the environment agency website before fishing the tyne, usually find that if the river level is below 1.3metres at riding mill and the water level is dropping then its normally fishable in the tidal stretches. saves a wasted trip and bait.

I wouldn't bother, had a few chucks at low and start of the flood today on the fish quay, an undersize codling every chuck:(

Had a couple from jarrow, 3 and 4lb
From ped tunnei, once you get through the whiteys !!, lots of fresh water there now though

hmm I might give it a miss then. im sure this time last year the river was teaming with huge whiteys! cheers for the offer gonzo mate but with all the poor reports I might just wait till the next sea is on. way too many blanks of late!

river levels link.

thats the link. thanks billy. now you know whats going on upstream you can make a very good estimate of how that affects the fishing down stream.

frpm what I have heard Kielder is releasing water every day because of the amount of rain we have been having, I am surprised there is any sea fish in the river at all
