Just back from Ferryden after our annual holiday. Weather was iffy, with the rest of Britain basking in the 80's and us mist covered for much of the week. Anyway we started at some of the usual marks we've fished before around Usan but we couldn't get away from codling, all around the 1lb mark

After a couple of days we were off to Boddin Point where the fish got a bit bigger:

Being here on a big tide is fantastic:

We managed one decent day with the spinning gear resulting in a dozen or so mackeral (no photos - I suspect you all know what they look like), poodlers up to 2lb and the biggest pollack making 5lb


We tried 3 new marks - 2 on the south side of Boddin resulted in no fish but considerable sweat as we took on the nettle and thistle ridden 100 feet cliffs. The third took us to Auchmithie which is another heavy weir covered shot. We managed 10 codling in 2 sessions, best about 4lb but one or two better fish lost on the way in.

The mist was with us for most of the week, producing some AC type opportunities:
