Volunteers/coaches wanted

Hi folks

I've got a new job in Wansbeck as Project Co-ordinator for Get Hooked on Fishing. This is a charity which works with young people (mainly aimed at 10-16 year olds) who are at risk of crime, socially excluded or isolated is some shape or form. My project launched on 9th April and I will be based in Newbiggin Sailing Club. I'll be working with Young People from the Wansbeck District and basically taking them fishing whilst also trying to improve their basic skills (communication, patience, manners etc). If anyone would like to get involved in being a volunteer or coach (if you have level 2 coaching badge) then please pm me. I'll be predominantly doing course fishing as we have a base up Bishop Auckland (Witton Park) which has 3 stocked lakes which I have access to but am thinking of the possibility of also doing some sea fishing with Wansbeck being a coastal area.

Also, I do have a large supply of fresh water and salt water tackle but if anyone has any spare which they no longer use and wish to donate, we will would welcome donations in order to build up a larger supply.

Many thanks

Darren

Darren, good luck with the job.

Get hooked on fishing do have a number of their own coaches who are level 2 with PAA and NFA.

if you contact Mick (forgotten his surname, could be Watson) who was seconded by the police force to do exactly what your doing.

I know for a fact he has loads of tackle which was given to Get Hooked on Fishing to use in the coaching of young offenders.

regards
Terry

Mick's my boss Terry, cheers for the well wishing.

I'm covering the wansbeck area and need to find my own coaches and tackle although Penn have donated some rods for me. I've just heard that I can concentrate solely on sea fishing so any offers of volunteers would be much appreciated.
