Hi folks
I've got a new job in Wansbeck as Project Co-ordinator for Get Hooked on Fishing. This is a charity which works with young people (mainly aimed at 10-16 year olds) who are at risk of crime, socially excluded or isolated is some shape or form. My project launched on 9th April and I will be based in Newbiggin Sailing Club. I'll be working with Young People from the Wansbeck District and basically taking them fishing whilst also trying to improve their basic skills (communication, patience, manners etc). If anyone would like to get involved in being a volunteer or coach (if you have level 2 coaching badge) then please pm me. I'll be predominantly doing course fishing as we have a base up Bishop Auckland (Witton Park) which has 3 stocked lakes which I have access to but am thinking of the possibility of also doing some sea fishing with Wansbeck being a coastal area.
Also, I do have a large supply of fresh water and salt water tackle but if anyone has any spare which they no longer use and wish to donate, we will would welcome donations in order to build up a larger supply.
Many thanks
Darren
