wallsend tackle

Shame when local tackle shops close down. Mind it was out the way compared to John's on the High Street. Guess it didn't get much passing custom.

That's a real shame ,always sad to see that happen ,does anyone know the reason behind it ?

its coz poeple buy off ebay who most the time its somone trading poor gear from there house.supermarkets sell cheep fishing gear and pound shops its all having an effect on most takle shops a good friend owns a takle shop and its not going too well either.they make pennys on bait we realy need to support or local takle shops b4 its to late and it dont help
that fish are getting fewer and fewer

just my opinon lads and lasses and plus thats what iv been told off a very good friend and takle shop owner

Tackle Shops

Tackle Shops

I agree, we all buy off EBay to keep costs down but without our local tackle shops we would be losing much more than a place to buy gear... FRESH BAIT and USUALLY GOOD FRIENDLY LOCAL ADVICE AND KNOWLEDGE so let us all support them

i spoke to Ian this morning and hes been subsidisng the shop to the tune of about £1000 per month and hes decided to call it a day,i think hes still going to be getting bait and a few bits and bobs and setting himself up to sell online

whatever he decides i wish him and lucy well for the future

He was always a nice guy as was his missus/daughter whenever I went in - unfortunately I only ever bought bait and the odd few weights...it's a sad thing but unfortunately it's not just Fishing Tackle shops that are feeling the pinch, but a lot of small niche type shops are losing a lot of business to the internet

I'm not going to wax lyrical coz at the end of the day I buy a lot of stuff online as it is cheaper
