went down hoping for flatties, or maybe a few coalies.... was very slow. I had one decent flattie and 2 mini ones, my dad had nout second blank for him, unlucky.
tried a bit of experimenting 3 rods at one point too, gripper blasted as far as i could towards the sea but at an angle so would be in the channel, not a touch. small rod with small bomb lead close in the channel nothing, and my flattie rod with same bait same spot as small rod but with a knobbly flat lead and yellow and red beads above the hook, this had all the fish, i think it was a combination of it pulling round slower in the tide rip with the added movement of the beads giving it the edge. bait was rag tipped with makky on all rigs.

is indeed mate, fished it sporadically since i was a kid but never had a bass yet, feels very bassy though, shallow, sandbars, tide rips etc probably just never there when the conditions are right

few people off nesa have had them here might be worth asking about, had some cracking sessions here before, last summer i had over 40 fish in one session of just a few hours all coalies and flatties with sea trout thrown in so it is a good venue when you hit it right! good luck with the time off, send me a pm if you have any luck and let me know!

Its best fished when there hasnt been any rain for a while, your best chance of a bass is further up the beach to the right hand side of the pipe.

aye after it went quiet we went there and fished the right side of the pipe, nout. still nice to be out, really warm today! lovely
