washed up,identity?

18884_10201010349202599_1536445287_n.jpg[/ATTACH]was up cresswell in caravan so took the kids to cresswell carrs for bottom water just for a mooch about,found this stange looking fish washed up,didnt have a clue what it was,1 of my mates reckons its a suckerfish,it weighed about 1lb,lovely colour,anyway,our lasses da had to come home to sort dogs out so he brung the light fishing gear and we went down to try for a few flatties the next day,got fook all but found another 1 of thse fish more than double the size,minimum 2lb,probably 2 n half,deep bodied fish wth big gut,weird to see 1 let alone another,just found it strange,is my mate right any suggestions?.cheers
 
cheers,ive never seen 1 before,the 2nd 1 i found looked like it was still alive,it was shaking but when i put it back in deeper water didnt swim off,cheers for info lads,nice 1
 
the fish in question is a relative of the lump sucker is correct name is a BATWANGS BATWANGA FISH , it is the rarest fish in the sea , and the only fish that constantly swims backwards in the ocean apparently it swims backwards to keep the salty water out of it eyes
 
As said a lumpsucker, dont often see them apart from this time of year when they come in close to lay the eges on the flowing kelp and get a battering from the sea. Caught 2 of them in my life both foul hooked, 1 from Shields pier and 1 from Seahouses pier.

The males are bright red with hints of blue.
