fishing at the moment is dire, the last two seshes i,ve had, i,ve used every bait known to man and some more, result 2 pin whiting and a cracking half oz dab[fouled hooked on a 4 0 ]we desperatly need a prolonged northerly to get some colour and movement in the water. but whats the forecast ,winds from the west, oh happy days.:red::red::red:

Your not wrong there Paul, I tried Blyth last night and didn't even get a bite. That said I only fished for an hour and a half to see how I could manage by myself since my spine op. During the summer??? we had plenty of eastern and southern blows but now that it is turning cooler it seems to be mainly westerlies yet again.

Jim.

Its going to be very windy next week.... but unfortunatley for us all westerly. Looks like the winter switch has been flicked already, plenty of big seas in the summer to p*ss the boaties off, then westerlies through the winter to upset the shore boys. (has something to do with the position a the jet stream)
I'm having a go on the Tyne for salmon & seatrout tomorrow and was praying for a bit of rain....forecast..... nice & dry till Sunday!.

The long range forecast that i saw a few months ago predicted a cold winter with persistent winds from the EAST! Hope it happens soon! Glad to hear your back out Jim.

lets hope so mate i know the winds are comeing from the west and are going to be strong doh lets hope it swings round.

Cheers lads, aching like a sore thing today though. Gonna be aching a wee bit more though, sick of having to sit in the house night after night, even if I can manage it once every week or two it's better than nothing.

Jim.

The amateur forecasters are picking up on a possible cold snap caused by a Northerly flow from around the 28th. Obviously this far out nothing is cast in stone but worth looking out for. MSW is just picking it up on its wind chart.

Aye a good northerly storm wouldn go a miss..
seems like the last couple of years we only get northerlies in the summer and mostly westerlies thru the winter...
