Met office let's you pick out local areas for weather in next five days. I also use South Shields Surf Report............gives you a live swell web-cam, and also a prediction for sea conditions in the next few days. Excellent site.

I always use Wind Map - Britain Observations or Wind guru. They`re both pretty accurate and are updated every 2-3 hours. Hope this helps.

On and off Blizzards in tynemouth mate. Forecast snow till early hours. I wouldn't risk it tbh esp parking in the yaht club. The bank will be horrendous if you get caught out.

agree i would stay clear of pier tonight that bank will be all ice up and fresh snow on top be like an ice rink. i may be out tonight maybe in the cullercoats area, depends on the wind though. cullercoats looks good for a chuck tonight over low water rocks at south side.

xc weather has been spot on all week. Heavy snow now falling again in south shields, more sledging for me and the kids tomorrow...then fishing.
