Set off Friday morning with a poor forecast for the weekend. Arrived at the Clash, booked in unpacked and off to the Mull in pouring rain.It rained so much that my boots started to leak and my feet were squelching when I walked.
The fishing this year was very slow, and not many sizeable fish and mackerel hard to come by.
Steve with the first fish a small pollack.

The mackerel were the smallest I've caught, and there was more of them than sizeable ones.

Because of the weather we decided to keep a few sizeable macky for Saturday, as Portpatrick looked the more fishable side.

When we got back to the caravan everything was soaked, so the fire was on full to dry out everything. Also left the macky under the caravan to keep it cool.

Saturday morning the macky had disappeared.
Louise later told us that it would be the fox, and last week it was pinching food out of the tents when people were asleep.Luckily we called in at Ardwell and picked up some frozen Bluey and macky.
Portpatrick. Must have crossed this bridge a few times.

When we got there the sea was rougher than expected.

Me sitting on a rock, middle of June, freezing me nads off, trench foot, not a fish in sight somewhere near Portpatrick.

A bit rough. Not being able to hold bottom and catching nothing spinning or float fishing, we decided to head for the Mull.

I bought some cheap walking boots with softish rubber souls and they grip well on the wet rocks. The down side is they leak, but it's a good trade off.

Cracking report and pics m8 shame about the weather, we are over at the Clashwhannon 14th - 21st July hope the weather is better than you lads had.
