Weekend

Winds all over the shop, i am going down shields pier friday afternoon so will put a report on then. It says its 5mph north friday, 5-10mph north then going north east over night with 5mph north winds sat and 5-10mph west winds sunday.

Sunday looks a sure goer but sat is still ? thats unless the weather changes again like it has every day for the past 2 weeks on the weather sites.

Am heading down shileds now so will get a good look at the sea stae. So far Sat is forcast 5-10mph ne winds and cloud, sunday is much better with 5mph west winds, warm and dry.

Sea state so far is slight and is forcast slight all weekend but like i said ill get a better look when am 1mile out at sea on the pier.

Well unless wind piks up over night i cant see it being a problem for the weekend, it was blowing about 10mph ne and the sea was ok, just had a ripple on.

Worst came to worst it would be inshore fishing (i.e 2miles out ish) sat and sunday is forcast no wind at all :o yes 0mph after a 5mph west wind over sat night.

My opinion...a little roll sat stopping heading right out and sunday looks fantastic.

What you lot doing then??

I take it the boat is off then Mike ?
Forecasts I have seen didn\'t look too bad - but I am not the one who has to \'Drive\' ? the boat.

Cheers for the offer to take us out too Dave - Much apreciated ;)

I can\'t be bothered Beach fishing this weekend - Beach fishing just doesn\'t \'do\' it for me any more - I will just have to have some beer ! :P
Now - if it is a rock mark you want to fish

Rich , I think it`ll be a bit choppy/rough on Sat .... so I`ll be giving it a miss, however could be ok sunday on condition we get a bit west blow to knock it back down..... looking ok for sunday

Yer thats what i think Norman. I think its best leaving it for sunday as we are in the eye of the storm on sunday/monday with no wind.

Dolly wont be out sat but not sure yet on sunday.

Saturday is def off for me , sunday is a maybe depending on commitments (Got a batlle of wills with a car shredder and I\'m going to win :P )

Funny you should mention that Mike , i did and the head come off and hit my wrist . It\'s up like a pudding :casstet:

hey, it\'s up your way at Sheffiels as well .

GO GO GO its all go for you lads today.Just got off the pier (had a cracking days fishing) NO wind at all now and sea has dropped right off..perfect weather you you lot tonight and tomora.

Am beached again :(

Aye Rich , but what you get at sea (as we all know from experience) is defferent to what it`s like on land ..........

Today (Sunday 25th) was fine and not a cloud in the sky all day, great day with all the surf sparkling in the sunshine. However there was a brisk SSE wind blowing that kept a few white horses running so it was a bit choppy, not too bad but sometimes a bit uncomfortable.
Since it was a SSE wind and tit was a big tide on the ebb it meant the drift was huge ................. couldnt hold anywhere near bottom, could have almost put boat in gear against the wind to hold still.
Lots of mackerel , full strings , and a few scotchies but nothing in the way of cod (not for me anyway). There were a few caught listening to radio but everyone found it hard going, especially with the big drift.
If it hadn`t been for the glenmorangie and I`d got out at 5.00 then it waould have been a different story LOL :)
