It has been well over a week now since my last report, I have still been snapping the happy anglers with their fish! Im just a bit behind with my internet stuff at the minute, could do with a couple of days to catch up with it all!
It was mentioned a while back about trying for Porgie, well, we hooked up to one within an Hour and 15 of anchoring, surprisingly it took the shallowest bait at the back of the boat set only around 20ft down.
The shark took Matt from York around the boat twice before we saw it roll in at the top, after the roll it stripped some 250 yards of line before parting company with us after 25 mins, we then had a further two runs over slack water
all in all we thought the day was a success, Matt and his crew are keen to have another dabble at it though next month, so if all goes well we will get a few pictures and a video!
The wrecks and ground are still throwing a few fish for us, we have been lucky enough to land on some fresh mackerel this month and we have seen some better fish because of them.
We had two cats also this week, one at 6lb and a Mistress boat best at 8lb
Ling to 13lb 8oz, cod just into double figures,
The start of the Festival was quite hard with the conditions but we managed to get most of the day before getting blown out the water! we managed 2nd and 3rd on the opening day with a Ling of 6lb 13oz and a cod of 6lb 12 1/2oz
